Lee Shulman is a British film director, photographer and founder of The Anonymous Project, who has established a reputation for archival photography and visual storytelling. His first film, I Am Martin Parr (2024), explores the life and work of the world-renowned British documentary photographer. Shulman's ironic and sensitive directorial approach and his interest in everyday life are in perfect harmony with the spirit of Parr's art.
I Am Martin Parr is a personal and in-depth portrait of the artist who has been documenting modern consumer society for decades. The film follows Parr as a road movie across England, offering insight into his methods and socially critical vision. Through archival footage, interviews and Parr's own commentary, the film explores how his work became one of the defining landmarks in the history of British photography.
